In this section, your ideas for IYC2011 can start to become reality. Here, you can submit activities for consideration and, after a short review, they will be listed below and any related events will populate the IYC calendar. Activities listed here have a clearly defined theme and describe how, when, and where they will take place.

A World without Polymers

We will hold a video and essay contest celebrating IYC. The topic will be to imagine a "World without Polymers" and to write about the detrimental effect on society if polymers were absent. We expect to award prizes including a trip to the World Chemical Congress for award winners.
PACIA National Conference 2011 - The Business of Chemistry

The Australian Plastics and Chemicals Industry Association (PACIA) National Conference is the highlight industry event of the year for the chemicals and plastics industry in Australia. The theme in 2011 will be 'The Business of Chemistry' in support of the International Year of Chemistry 2011 initiative.

The Australian National Chemistry Quiz is truly and international activity, currently held in 15 countries and 7 languages. The quiz The Quiz has four age groups – Years 7-8 (middle high school), Years 9-10 (middle high school), Year 11 and Year 12 (senior high school).
