In this section, your ideas for IYC2011 can start to become reality. Here, you can submit activities for consideration and, after a short review, they will be listed below and any related events will populate the IYC calendar. Activities listed here have a clearly defined theme and describe how, when, and where they will take place.

If you are not quite ready to submit a plan, keep working at it and come back soon. And remember, you can always browse and search this forum to find out what others are planning and even add your own comments to the discussion.

Towards Global Artificial Photosynthesis: Energy, Nanochemistry and Governance Thomas Faunce   |   added on Mar 10, 2011    |    Australia First International Conference dedicated to creating a Global Artificial Photosynthesis Project. Conference at Lord Howe Island (UNESCO World Heritage Listed) August 14-18 2011. conference website: http://law.anu.edu.au/coast/tgap/conf.htm
Topic: conferences, sustainable and green chemistry, biotechnology Audience: students, professional chemists, professors, research scientists, universities, post graduate students, women chemists, educational institutions, decision makers, tertiary education, secondary school students

Australian National Chemical Analysis Competition Ruth Meaney   |   added on Mar 02, 2011    |    Australia The competition encourages students who enjoy Chemistry - especially practical Chemistry. Entrants compete in teams of three. Each team member performs a simple acid-base titration. A NaOH solution is standardised against standard HCl. An "unknown" acetic acid solution is then titrated with the NaOH solution.
Topic: chemistry education, educational materials, hands-on activities, workshops, demonstrations, competition, analytical chemistry Audience: students, educators, teachers, educational institutions, secondary school students, high schools, school children, secondary schools, secondary schools students
