This workshop is directed to high school teachers. Our goals are: Recognizing the diversity of contextual relationships of water, deal with the chemical and physical properties of aqueous solutions and raise awareness about the impact of the activities of people on water quality and our social responsibility in that.
There is a lot of water. Why should we worry about if there is a lot of water?
We have said all along, water is an essential substance for the life of all living beings, but, are we actually aware of it?
Many human activities are dependent on the solubility of so many substances in water. The solubility in water of some substances such as chlorides, sulfates,carbonates, minerals, among others, is a determinating factor in process such as: nutrient absorption of molecules in cells; clothes dyeing, where the dyes are soluble in water and dissolve are entered in textile fibers; in health, using the solubility of substances such as sodium chloride and glucose to facilitate the intake of these in the body, and even in the water potabilization process, is used the solubility of substances such as potassium aluminum sulfate to precipitate particles present. In all these procedures incur humans,consciously or unconsciously, in actions harmful to the environment.
By the above, we are interested in discuss with the teachers, about the importance of the chemical and physical properties of aqueous solutions and raise awareness about the positive and negative impact of the activities of people on water quality and our social responsibility in that.
