The workshop will cover topics including commercialisation of research, patenting, importance of searching prior art, and managing intellectual property, with particular reference to the field of chemistry. Representatives of the Technology Transfer Office of the University of Namur, of the Belgian Office for Intellectual Property (OPRI) and patent attorneys will present national perspectives of dealing with intellectual property, and a representative from a spin-off company will present a case study of successful managing IP assets in order to encourage research and innovation.
