"Petru Poni" Chemistry Competition is a traditional chemistry contest recognized by the Ministry of Education, Research, Youth and Sports Romania, taking place in all the country at local, county and national levels. Pupils from secondary and high schools are encouraged to participate each year at one or both sections: a chemistry theoretical contest and a session of applied chemistry school projects.

The theoretical contest will consist in a task of solving 30 items during 2 hours starting at 9,30 a.m on 19th March 2011.

The applied chemistry contest will consist in a session of Posters and Power Point Presentations made by students in which they will present their research about a specific theme connected to chemistry, green chemistry or other interdisciplinary fields. The session will start at 13,00 in the same day.

For each section the evaluation will be done by a committee of teachers and the best works will be awarded.

These activities are aimed to generate the interest and enthusiasm of students for chemistry both for practical and theoretical level.
