On May 14th the chemistry departments at Simon Fraser University and Douglas College will host an afternoon of chemistry related hands-on activities, demonstrations and challenges to engage, educate and entertain the general public. This event will take place at Simon Fraser University's Burnaby Campus.
Our CHEMQUEST day is planned for Saturday May 14th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Burnaby campus of Simon Fraser University and is presented jointly by Simon Fraser University and Douglas College. Our event will have multiple aspects to it. We are planning numerous tables with supervised hands-on activities for "kids" of all ages, demonstrations of chemical and other scientific phenomena and scientific equipment. There will also be displays of the various research activites in the department and three presentations of our Chemistry Magic Show, an event that has always been popular on open house days. Details of the various activites and demonstrations are still in the planning stage and will be posted at a later date.
