Papers are welcomed for a Special Issue in Chemistry Central Journal covering "N-Heterocyclic Carbenes". It has only been 20 years since the first stable N-heterocyclic carbene was isolated, but these compounds have already gained widespread use in chemistry, e.g. as ligands in catalysis.
Papers are welcomed for a Special Issue in Chemistry Central Journal covering "N-Heterocyclic Carbenes".
It has only been 20 years since the first stable N-heterocyclic carbene was isolated, but these compounds have already gained widespread use in chemistry. They are now commonly used as ligands in catalysis, most notably perhaps in olefin metathesis catalysts. More recently, they have seen other applications, such as photoactive sites in luminescent materials, and as synthons for molecular switches and conducting polymers.
As part of the International Year of Chemistry we would like to showcase a selection of the current research involving N-heterocyclic carbenes.
If you are interested in submitting a paper to this issue then we would welcome your contribution. Reviews, Commentaries and Research papers covering N-heterocyclic carbene research across all areas of chemistry are encouraged.
