Southern Highlands Conference on Heterocyclic Chemistry, 28-30 August 2011

Peppers Manor House, Moss Vale, Sydney NSW, Australia

The international meeting will be a 2 day fully residential conference, restricted to a total of 50 participants, so that participants get to know each other and can spend quality time in discussion on topics of mutual importance to the tertiary education sector, industry and commerce.

The format will consist of six plenary lectures, two invited student lectures in order to encourage the interest of young people in chemistry, and a continuous poster session with short oral summary presentations by any participant so as to generate enthusiasm for innovation and creativity in chemistry.  There will be ample time for discussion in a relaxed atmosphere. It is a prime intention of the conference to provide the maximum opportunity for interaction between chemists from industry, universities and government organisations. While this will be the twenty-second of this series of conferences on the general topic of heterocyclic chemistry, the celebration of the IYC in 2011 will mark the beginning of a new decade of constantly evolving innovation and breakthroughs in this important field.  The conference topic is interpreted in the widest sense to include natural products and covering synthetic, organometallic, pharmacological, stereochemical and commercial aspects.  Contributions in the form of posters are sought in any of these areas.

Topic: conferences, heterocyclic chemistry, synthetic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, organometallic chemistry, natural product chemistry, materials chemistry, drug development, bioactive compounds Audience: professional chemists, industrial chemists, professors, senior postgraduate research students
