Students from different high schools held a purification and monitoring of water quality in the City of Buenos Aires. The process will be filmed and uploaded to the virtual campus for this collaborative experience.

The purposes of this activity are various:

  • 1. To increase the interest of children in chemistry and science in general.
  • 2. To become aware of water contamination.
  • 3. To show them that science is constructed in community and not by working on their own.
  • 4. To show them that a question they have may be answered by an equal and not always by a teacher.
  • 5. To encourage them to use new technologies such as blogs, virtual campus, forums, social networks.

Topic: celebrating chemistry, chemistry education, networking, educational materials, sustainable and green chemistry Audience: students, secondary school students, high schools, secondary schools
